Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
Dundas Dental Studio will soon accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).
CDCP is a federal government program that helps eligible Canadians get affordable dental care.
Purpose of CDCP
The main goal of CDCP is to help people who do not have dental insurance.
It helps lower-income families get access to basic and important dental services by reducing treatment costs.
Who Is Eligible?
You may qualify for CDCP if:
You do not have dental insurance
Your adjusted family net income is under $90,000
You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes
You filed your tax return last year
Program Rollout
CDCP is being introduced in stages:
Seniors (87+ years): Enrollment started in December 2023
People with Disability Tax Credit & children under 18: Applications open in June 2024
All other eligible Canadians: Can apply online in 2025
What Services Are Covered?
CDCP covers many dental services, including:
Cleanings and preventive care
Dental exams and X-rays
Fillings and root canal treatments
Tooth extractions
Dentures
⚠️ CDCP does not cover 100% of the cost. Some patients may need to pay a portion.
Co-Payment Details
Your co-payment depends on your family income:
Under $70,000: No co-payment
$70,000 – $79,999: 40% co-payment
$80,000 – $89,999: 60% co-payment
Program Management
The CDCP is managed by Health Canada and administered by Sun Life.
